Steve Hartline joined WCLE at the age of fifteen (or so he says, he was actually dropped off as an infant by some people who wouldn't claim him). It seems then owner and morning host Tom Rowland (now Cleveland Mayor) influenced Steve to begin a career in broadcasting (Tom, what has the public ever done to you?) Hartline attended, and apparently graduated, from Cleveland High School (although weve never seen a graduation picture). He then attended Lee University (where sadly Dr. Paul Conn would be challenged daily to have Steve on campus). Hartline has covered news, sports-Cleveland High School Basketball and Baseball, Walker Valley High School Football, Bradley Central High School Basketball and Baseball, Cleveland State Basketball, Lee University Basketball.

He's even proud to say "he spun country records when he started" (we told him they were 'records' to make him feel better-when he wasn't actually on the air). Hartline has also covered every major local/state/national election since 1998, for WCLE, as well as for the Associated Press (or so he says). Of course the real highlight is that Steve married Jennifer on July 30th, '05 (better yet, God had mercy on Steve). Another highlight...the birth of Reagan Hartline!

Steve (along with J.R. Fulbright) is the voice of Walker Valley Mustang Football on Friday night and occasionally shows up for a basketball broadcast, too!

When not broadcasting (that's fifteen minutes) Hartline enjoys playing tennis, running on the treadmill, and watching "60 Minutes". Hartline also loves to take walks with his wife and daughter and realizes how truly fortunate he is (she lost a bet...Reagan was a victim of circumstance). He also enjoys making fun of Bridget Forrester daily. His mother, Lois Ann Taylor, is a retired Bradley County teacher (or so she says). His dad is a dentist, Dr. Steve Hartline (he says hes "the real Steve Hartline"). Hartline is the grandson of Rev. and Mrs. M.E. Littlefield and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hartline (I'm sure they're proud). Hartline would like everyone to listen every morning to hear him and Bridget inform you and entertain you (if that's what they call it).
