Born and
raised here in Cleveland, TN, I graduated from Bradley Central
High School in 2000. I started college at Cleveland State, then
transferred a year later to Middle Tennessee State University.
There, I majored in Mass Communication with an emphasis in
Radio/TV and double-minored in Marketing and Political Science.
My sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, occupied most of my time. I held
several offices, played intramural sports and participated in
different greek activities on campus. Besides greek life, I was
also involved in other campus organizations. I worked for the
campus tv station, MTTV-Channel 10, as the assistant news
director, anchor and reporter. I was elected as an SGA senator
for the College of Mass Communication, President of Gamma Beta
Phi Honor Society, and an assistant coach for the Murfreesboro
Mustangs cheerleading squad.
People always
told me that internships would get you ahead of the game, so I
did four just to make sure! I was a news intern at WRCB-TV
Channel 3 in Chattanooga, a legislative intern for the 103rd
General Assembly at the State Capitol (in Murfreesboro Senator
Bill Ketron’s office), a communications intern at the Shop At
Home Network in Nashville, and a news intern at WTVF NewsChannel
5 in Nashville.
After
graduating in December of 2004, I began working in the newsroom
as an assignment editor at NewsChannel 5, the CBS affiliate in
Nashville. A few months later, I moved back home to Clevegas.
Watching tv one night, I saw the Prime Time Sports show with
Steve Hartline….and I thought “I just have to be a part of
that!” I then began working at Tri-Vision Productions, which led
to the job here at Mix 104.1!!
